Season 13 Tournament of Champions

We had 14 people qualify for TOC for Season 13. However, Jason did not come and opted to sell his seat to the next person in line which was James.

14 people did play in this seasons TOC. There were returning bracelet winners. TC, Bill, James

First to tip their hat and leave was Brandon during the first level of 10-20.

Next to exit the felt was Stand at 15-30.

After the break two more people fell to the fate of the cards. Those people were Bill and Tim at 25-50.

Next level 50-100 saw many people meet their fate: Michelle, Clay, Steve, Randy, Alex.

One more level brought the end to Frank’s TOC at 75-150.

Money time: Todd, Alan, James and TC.

After two levels of hard fighting all four competitors were battling on the felt.

It was after the color-up that brought the next victim. The blinds at 200-400 was the level that TC had to say good-bye. He left the table in 4th place with a win of $61.

Third place belonged to James at the same level. 3rd place payout tonight was $92.

Heads up battle between Alan and Todd. They were fighting for the championship.

Alan came into the heads-up match the chip leader. After some shifting play on Todd’s part it was he who stood on top of the chip pile with a victory.

Alan’s 2nd place finish grossed him $153.

Todd’s 1st place finish grossed him $306 plus the coveted bracelet. He now joins a few others in the TOC hall of fame. This was his first bracelet.

Thanks to everyone who participated in season 13.

Season 13 Week 8

There was 13 people battling to win and to qualify this week at the VPL.

The story this season comes down to three people and the win for the points race. Coming into the race, Clay is leading with 77 but right behind him are Alan 74 and TC 74.

One casualty came at the final table. TC moved all-in and Alex called. TC showed pocket 9's and Alex had pocket 5's. Looking good until Alex flopped a 5. His set held up and TC was out in 8th place (and out of the race for the points.)

Of course every week there is the bubble. This week was no exception. This week the people dangling for the money were Alan, Alex, Clay and Steve.

This is where is gets good. Because Clay and Alan are fighting for the money. Clay is leading by 3 points.

Who had the needle this week..........well it was Clay. With his 4th place finish he received 11 points giving him a total of 88 points. Now 3rd will get 13pts and
2nd will get 15pts and 1st will get 17pts. That means that in order for Alan to win the points he cannot take anything less than 2nd place.

Money time:
It was quite the battle. Chips going back and forth. Someone would have to take third place........and that someone was Alan. He received 13 pts and $34 for his effort. This left him standing with a total of 87pts. 1 point short of Clay.

Congratulations to Clay for winning the points race. This season the points paid $221.

Heads-up was fierce. Alex and Steve are great competitors but with all competitions there can only be one winner. The winner tonight was Steve. Alex took 2nd place and $55 and Steve took the champion chip along with $110 for his efforts.

Congratulation to Steve.

They both are new qualifiers for next weeks TOC. There are 14 players qualified for the TOC.

Good luck to everyone.
