This season is blowing up with players. This week the VPL hosted 16 players (with 3 regulars not showing up).
There is never a shortage of players or good plays at the VPL (although some may argue the last part of that statement).
Now onto the action.
This week the bubble saw a new player to the VPL which was George. Along with him, TC Brandon and Frank were waging war to see who would walk away with some money this week.
George came to the VPL this week along with a new shiny needle. It was George going out in 4th place and popping the bubble.
Money time: Frank Brandon and TC.
There was one hand which had TC against Brandon (with Brandon being all-in). TC turned a J which gave trips. He yelled in celebration only to see an Ace fall on the river. Brandon had caught runner runner for the straight.
That just goes to show: It isn't over until the river has fallen.
A few hands later, Brandon said good bye to the final table in 3rd place and a$40 win.
Heads-up: Frank and TC.
This had to be the quickest headsup ever. The blinds were 300/600.
2nd hand of heads-up
Both just call the big blind.
Flop came: A T 7
check and check
The turn was a 4. A T 7 4.
TC moves all-in (trying to steal the blinds).
Frank calls.
TC shows K 8 and Frank shows Q 4
River hits a blank. Frank had TC outchipped and won the tournament.
TC 2nd place finish earns him $68
Frank's 1st place finish earns him $136 and the chip.
With Franks win in week 6, he has stretched his lead to a massive 20 points with only 2 tournaments left.
As of week 6, there are 9 people going to the TOC.
This is ironic because this is one of the biggest seasons of the VPL and could be one of the smallest TOC.
Good luck everyone and we'll see you next week.

Season 16 Week 5
This week was very impressive with the number of players. Again hitting an all time high with 19 players.
The VPL may have to go to alternates when it comes to buying into the VPL. For sure the veterans have a seat.
We are getting full and any suggestions on how to deal with the extras are welcome.
Now onto the action:
As previously stated, the VPL hosted 19 people.
This week chips were flying very fast. There were quite a few all-ins (and calls) within the first couple sets of blinds.
Just because you made it to the final table still doesn't guarantee any money. The action is tough at the VPL.
Final Four: Brandon, Jason, Frank, and Todd
This week it was our points leader Frank who popped the bubble with a 4th place finish.
Money time: Jason, Brandon and Todd.
Jason found it was his time to leave the table in 3rd place with a a$50 win.
Heads up with Steve and Brandon.
There is only one winner each week: This week the winner was Todd. 1st place, along with the chip, paid an impressive $160.
Brandon's 2nd place finish earned him $80.
At the beginning of the heads-up match, both players had alot of chips. It looked like the blinds would be capped at 500/1000. It didn't happen, the tournament ended at 400/800.
The blinds have yet to capped.
The updated points are at the right. Congratulations to Frank for securing a solid lead.
But with 3 weeks to go, anything is possible at the VPL.
Good luck and we'll see you next week.

This is Michelle's 2nd weekn in a row going heads up. But again, she falls short of the top prize with a 2nd place finish and $70 for her efforts.

Those 4 places belonged to Alan, Bill, Clay and Steve.

Season 15 Week 8
This was the final tournament of Season 15.
This week was full of surprises.
First. The points race. The top two were Brandon and James followed by Bill, Clay and TC.
James went into the tourney in the lead. Brandon took and early exit. However, after looking at the points race, If james went out with less than 11 points and Bill won the tourney, Bill could take points.
James saw his exit come with only 10 points. Eyes were on Bill.
Unfortunately Bill left the table only two spots later with 12 points. James wins the points for Season 15 with a win of $206. Congratulations to James.
Onto this weeks action:
This week other action was onto the non-points qualifiers. In the race here was, Alan (leading) and tied for 2nd were Tim and Michelle.
Michelle went out with 8 points. At this point, the top two non-qualifiers were Alan and Tim.
Okay, bubble time: Clay, Frank, Tim and Alan.
At this point, Michelle is wanting either Tim or Alan to qualify because then she would be in the TOC as one of the top two non-qualifiers.
Okay here comes the news about the bubble: Frank opened up his pocket and left the table in 4th place pickin up 15 points.
Money time: Clay, Alan and Tim. This is good news for Michelle because now at least one of them will qualify and she'll be in the TOC.
3rd place honors went to Clay and so did $44.
Heads-Up: Alan and Tim
This was a very good battle. There were no extremely big hands. Good straightforward poker.
Going into the game, Alan was chip leader.
In every game, there has to a winner and a runner-up. This week was no different. 2nd place went to Alan with a $70.
Tim wins the tournament with $145 and the chip. Interesting side note: This is the first time that Tim won a weekly tournament at the VPL.
Okay back to the points, now that both Alan and Tim qualified this week, this puts Michelle and the first non-qualifier in the TOC.
With Franks strong finish this week, he has now become the 2nd non-qualifier for the TOC.
There are now 13 people qualified for the TOC. James indicated early that he was not going to be present at the TOC. His seat now becomes available to the next person in line for points. This person is Alex. We will have to wait and see if he buys seat from James.
Congratulations to Tim and James. This season was full of alot of action. Let's hope Season 16 brings the same kind of excitement.
Good luck everyone at the TOC.

Season 15 Week 7
This week concluded week 7. There is only 1 week left in season 15.
This week 14 people enjoyed the sites and sounds of the VPL.
Action as always starts on the bubble:
This week the four players fighting for the money were: Bill, TC, Jason and James.
Who had the magic pin this week to pop the bubble..................it was James with the 4th place finish.
Money time: Jason, TC and Bill
Finishing in 3rd place with a $35 win was Jason.
clock stopped, heads up between TC and Bill with the blinds at 200/400.
Coming into the battle Bill and TC outchipped 2.5 to 1.
The battle began. The chips were flying.
One huge hand: at the river, Bill made a move to put TC all-in. TC called. TC had flopped a King high flush. Wrong time for Bill to try to buy it and TC doubled up.
TC now has a small chip lead.
Flop comes: Q 3 J: TC makes and move goes all-in. Bill calls.
TC shows KJ and Bill shows Q 8
The turn: Q 3 J 10
The river: Q 3 J 10 9
TC wins the hand by runner runner for the straight. With that win, TC wins the tournament.
Bill takes 2nd place with a $60 win. TC wins the chip and $119.
*It was Bill and TC who went heads up last week with the same outcome.
Good luck everyone and see you next week.

Season 15 Week 6
Here we are at week 6 of season 15. I want to thank everyone who has participated in the VPL and everyone who reads the blogs.
This week the VPL was the host to 14 people who came to together to see who would walk away with the money.
This week, like others in the past, starts out on the final table. The action begins on the bubble.
This week the 4 players were Bill, TC, Frank and Steve.
For awhile it just seemed like a game of pass the chips. Someone who win a big hand, then it would seem that person would just pass the chips to someone else.
In the end, there has to be a 4th place. That honor belonged to Steve who popped the bubble.
Money time: Bill, Frank and TC.
3rd place went to Frank with a win of $35.
Heads-up battle between Bill and TC.
It was tough but this week 2nd place belonged to Bill. His efforts gave him a win of $60. TC was the victor for week 6 with a win of $119 and the chip.
TC has now qualified for the TOC. As of the end of week 6, there are 11 qualifiers for the TOC.
The points race has livened up quite a bit. With only two tournaments left, there is a tie of points. Brandon and James both have 61 pts. Trailing behind these two gentlemen is Steve with 53.
The last two weeks should be very exciting when it comes to the points. As always, the points are updated and to the right.
Good luck everyone and we'll see you next week.

Season 14 Tournament of Champions
This season TOC was held on September 9, 2008. There were 12 qualifiers for this event.
It was quite interesting because 2 people had sold their seat. As per the VPL rules, the next person in points has the option of buying the seat. This option was by Dave. He bought his seat. The 2nd person to buy their seat was Scott.
Okay, 11 people battling for the bracelet and the bragging rights. There were 4 previous bracelet winners at the TOC. Todd (1), TC (2), Dave (2) and James (3).
At the TOC, the top 4 places are paid out.
Money time: Bil, Todd, Steve and Clay.
The first person to go out in the money was Bill. His 4th place finish helped him win $81.
3rd place belonged to Steve. This exit won him $81.
Heads up: Todd and Clay.
Todd is defending his title. He won the TOC in season 13.
Two very good players. Only one winner.
The person who won Season 14 TOC was Clay. This is Clay's first TOC win. He earned himself the bracelet as well as a win of $269.
Todd's 2nd place finish earned him a win of $135.
Congratulations to Clay for winning his first bracelet.
Good luck everyone in Season 15.

Season 14 Week 8
Last week of the season 14. VPL hosted 12 people who took their shot at their last chance to qualify for the TOC.
Down to the nitty gritty of things:
Money time: TC came in 3rd place with a win of $30.
Heads-up with Randy and Alan. Both great players. Randy was the won who came in 2nd place with a $51 win.
Alan was the winner of week 8 with the chip and $102.
Interesting side note: when it was down to 3 way action, James was rooting for TC to go out in 3rd place. If Randy went out in 3rd place he would have had more points than James and edged him out of the TOC by points and would have been in by points.
However by taking 2nd place, that's an automatic TOC qualifier. So James made it into the TOC.
TC was the winner of the points for season 14. He won $204.
Good luck everyone and well see you at the TOC.

Season 14 Week 5
This week the VPL hosted 12 people.
Don't let the low numbers fool you. This week had some of the best poker we've seen in weeks. Despite only having 12 people (with weeks having 17, 16, and 14). You would think this would make for a quick evening........quite the opposite.
This week the tournament did not end until the blinds reached 400-800. This is quite the feat with only 12 people.
Of course we start at the bubble. Week 5 had some very strategic play on the bubble. The four people were: Clay, Bill, TC and Michelle.
It seemed like blinds were being traded back and forth. Chips were being passed back and forth. Michelle can milk a shortstack like no other.
I personally tried to take her out twice only to double her up both times. But finally in the end, it was Michelle who left the final table in 4th place.
Then it was I who had to make my exit from week #5 in 3rd place with a $30 win.
Heads up: Bill and Clay (they both have previously qualified).
Finally with the blinds at 400-800, it was time to finish the tournament. Clay was the last man standing this week. For his 1st place finish he took home $102 and Bill's 2nd place finish helped him get $51.
The points have now been updated through week 5. Check the right hand side.
After week 5, there are 9 people qualified for the TOC.
Good luck everyone and we'll see you next week.

Season 13 Week 8
There was 13 people battling to win and to qualify this week at the VPL.
The story this season comes down to three people and the win for the points race. Coming into the race, Clay is leading with 77 but right behind him are Alan 74 and TC 74.
One casualty came at the final table. TC moved all-in and Alex called. TC showed pocket 9's and Alex had pocket 5's. Looking good until Alex flopped a 5. His set held up and TC was out in 8th place (and out of the race for the points.)
Of course every week there is the bubble. This week was no exception. This week the people dangling for the money were Alan, Alex, Clay and Steve.
This is where is gets good. Because Clay and Alan are fighting for the money. Clay is leading by 3 points.
Who had the needle this week..........well it was Clay. With his 4th place finish he received 11 points giving him a total of 88 points. Now 3rd will get 13pts and
2nd will get 15pts and 1st will get 17pts. That means that in order for Alan to win the points he cannot take anything less than 2nd place.
Money time:
It was quite the battle. Chips going back and forth. Someone would have to take third place........and that someone was Alan. He received 13 pts and $34 for his effort. This left him standing with a total of 87pts. 1 point short of Clay.
Congratulations to Clay for winning the points race. This season the points paid $221.
Heads-up was fierce. Alex and Steve are great competitors but with all competitions there can only be one winner. The winner tonight was Steve. Alex took 2nd place and $55 and Steve took the champion chip along with $110 for his efforts.
Congratulation to Steve.
They both are new qualifiers for next weeks TOC. There are 14 players qualified for the TOC.
Good luck to everyone.

Money time: After pushing hard three way action, it was time for TC to exit the table with a 3rd place win of $40.

This week the VPL had 14 people fighting it out on the felt.
of course there always is the bubble. This week the bubble contained Stan, Alan Scott and Bll.
Someone had to have the needle and this week it was Scott. He bowed out gracefully in 4th place.
The money had Stand, Alan and Bill fighting it out.
After some fierce fighting, it was Alan's time to leave the table in 3rd place and $35.
Heads-up saw Bill and Stan.
With these two players it's always wild and crazy. This week was no different. Always exchanging chip lead.
But only one could be the last man standing. That man was Bill. He won $119 and the chip while Stand took 2nd and $60.
Bill and Stan are now both qualified for the TOC.

This is Tim's very first play in the VPL.
The ensued for the win, but when the dust settled it was Todd who was victorious. Tim took 2nd
place and $68 for his efforts.

Season 12 Week 8
This was the final week of season 12. The VPL enjoyed the presence of 13 players this week.
This week was important to me because I was in the race for the points. Going into it, I had James by 6 points.
The week got started with two players being blinded in. Randy and Michelle. Both made in back with the blinds at 25-50. They had around 750-800 in chips. Crazy, Randy was busted in two hands and had to wait for the cash game to break out.
The first one out of the tourney was Greg L. 2nd one out of the tourney was Bill.
3rd one out was James. With James, being busted out this early, solidified my winnings of the points for season twelve. I will receive $190 at the TOC next week.
Now the next big news was the non-qualifying points: Coming into this was Clay, Frank and Stan. Stan 42, Clay 40 and Frank 38. Stan left the tournament earning 4 points. This gave him a total of 46 points. Frank had to earn at least 8 points to tie stan.
Frank exited the tournament earning 7 points which gave him 45 points. His only chance now, was to have Clay qualify. Clay left the table in 4th place.
The non-qualifiers are Stan and Clay.
In the money were Dave, TC and Brandon. Dave left the table in 3rd place earning $34
Heads-up between myself and Brandon. I was outchipped going into it almost 4-1.
Blinds were 200-400. I had around 3K. The pot before the flop was 600. No raise pre-flop (800 in pot) I held 76os and the flop came 887. I moved all-in brandon thought about it and then called. held 7Qos. his kicker held up and he won the tournament along with $110 and the chip. I took $55 for my 2nd place finish.
We have 13 players qualified for the TOC next week.
Good Luck everyone.

Season 12 Week 7
This week was an excellent turnout for the VPL. This week was the biggest tournament in season 12 with 16 players. That's right, that means the winner received 20 points.
Two complete tables got the action started. There is a very tight points race with the top two non-qualifiers. Stan couldn't be there physically so he opted to pay for his seat and get blinded in. This race involves Clay, Stan and Frank. Before the tournament started Clay had 38pts, Stand had 33 and Frank had 30.
There is also a race for the over all points. Coming into the tournament I had 68pts and James had 63. Alot of people say that's a comfortable lead.......I am not one of those people. James is incredibly crafty. He came back in season 11 and won the points in the last tournament. Alex lead the points race through week7. After week 8 it was James who won the money by 1 point. Anything is possib.e at this point, I am definately not counting him out.
Back to the non-qualifiers. Clay was the 2nd to exit the poker arena. He received 2pts. When Frank was put to the rail, he received 5pts for his efforts. Stan made it to the final table (being blinded in). Also doubled up on had on an all-in. He was put out in 5th place (outlasting 11 people by being blinded in). He received 12 points.
Now the non qualifiers points are as follows: Stan 42pts, Clay 40pts, and Frank with 38pts. It will come down to week 8 to decided who will make it to the TOC.
Bubble time: Brandon, Steve, Bill and Todd. Todd was the one carrying the needle this week with a 4th place exit.
Money time:
Bill saw it was his time to go with a 3rd place finish and $40 in prize money.
Heads-up: Brandon and Steve. At this point, Brandon had previously qualified. But by going heads-up now Steve has earned his place in the TOC.
There only can be one winner and that person was Brandon. Steve 2nd place finish earned him 18pts and $68. Brandon took the chip and $136 for his efforts.
Interesting side note: it seems that every time there are 16 players Brandon finds a way to win.
Next week will decide who goes to the TOC and who wins the points.
Come and see who wins. Good Luck everyone.

Season 12 Week 6
VPL had 14 people join in the festivities this week.
Very interesting week for the VPL. Going into the tournament there was a tie for the points lead with James and TC. Both with 54 points. James couldn't physically be at this weeks tournament, however, he did pay in advance to secure his seat. In a case like this, he had his chips blinded off and received the points.
On critical moment in the match came when I (being TC. Too hard to write in 3rd person)had around 1000 chips. Blinds were around 25-50. James stack had 800. I was in the small blind and dealt As7s. Frank in the big blind checked. The flop came
3 4 7 (rainbow). I bet out 600 with top pair and top kicker. Frank came over the top and went all-in. A call would have put my tournament life on the line. Frank had me covered. With the tournament and points race on the line, I folded the hand which left me short stacked with 400 chips.
Second critical hand for me. Two hands later I was dealt KK. I moved all in. Stan called as well as Michelle. Brandon was thinking about calling. I certainly did not was two callers let alone three. Brandon folded and it was three way action.
flop comes rag, K, six. Michelle bets out and Stan calls. The turn came a 6. Michelle checked and Stan checked. River was a rag. Both checked I took the main pot down with a full house and Michelle took the side down.
I needed that triple in a bad way.
James eventually got blinded off in 6th place for a total of 9 points.
Bubble time came down to Greg, Michelle, TC and Frank.
As every week, someone was carrying the needle to pop the bubble. When it came down to 4 way, it was quite the battle with no one being extremely short stacked. This week, it was Frank who went out in 4th place.
In the money. At this point, the blinds are 200-400. I wake up with pocket fives as the dealer. I raise to 1200. Greg in the small blind goes over the top and moves all-in. Michelle folds.
I called. I was hoping to go against to over cards. When he flipped over his cards he had pocket kings. The kings held up and I went out in 3rd place with $35 and 14 points.
Heads-up with Michelle and Greg. They battled back and forth. Michelle went all in once and was called but doubled up to around 3400.
When it was said and done. It was Greg who came out the victor. Michelle took $60 for her effort. Greg took the chip as well as $110.
Both Michelle and Greg are now qualified for the TOC.
With Michelle qualifying and Franks 4th place finish. Frank is now in the top two non-qualifiers for TOC after week 6.
There are only two tournaments left in Season 6.
Sidenote: This is the only tournament where Michelle and I both made the money. Personally, I wished I went heads up with her. Very interesting match.
See everyone for week 7.

Season 12 Week 5
Well it was a short tourney for the VPL. Only 10 people showed up. VPL rules state that when less than 11 players show up there will be no 4th place pot and the the distribution will be 1st - 50%, 2nd - 30% and 3rd20%.
TC came into this tourney with a healthy 11 point lead. But he was 2nd out only giving him two points.
bubble time came down to Tammy, Frank, James and Clay. Clay would be the one to pop the bubble. Frank ended up taking third place with a win of $34.
Going into heads up James had Tammy outchipped by a lot. Tammy eventually fell short of winning and took 2nd place with a win of $51.
James took 1st with a win of $85 and the chip. With this win, James earned 13 points and now is tied for the points leader with 54 points.
Luckily, for TC it was a small turnout because if more people would have come, James would have gotten more points.
Good luck to everyone next week.

This week there were 13 players at the VPL.
The bubble people were: Brandon, Jason, Todd and James.
This was quite the final four. All very good players. The question is who would be the one with the needle. On week 4, it was james would pop the bubble.
Todd took 3rd place with $34 in winnings. Heads up with Jason and Brandon. Jason was very agressive all through the final table. When the dust settled it was Brandon who was the victor. He claimed $110 and the chip for his hard work. Jason collected $55.
This is the middle of Season 12. There are now 7 people qualified for the TOC: TC, James, Bill, Todd, Brandon, Randy and Jason.

Unfortunately, it was TC who had the needle this week to pop the bubble. He received 11 points for his efforts.
Tammy took third place with winnings of $34.
Heads up was between Randy and Todd. After passing the chip lead back and forth. Randy came out on top to take 1st place and $110 along with the chip.

Season 12 week 2
This week brought 12 players to battle it out on the felt.
Two tables of six got the action started. As always, the final table is made up of eight.
Bubble action: Renee, James, TC and Clay. Someone always has to have a needle to pop the bubble. This week Clay was the culprit.
Money time: Renee, TC and James. Renee was extrememly shortstacked but managed to stay alive for a few rounds with double ups. At one point she was all-in in the dark and tripled up.
But as the blinds went up, her chances of survival went down. She eventually took third place with a prize of $30.
Heads up with TC and James. Battle for battle it went but James took second place with a winning of $51 and TC won the tourney and $102 with the chip.
Untill next week.

We had 14 players to start off the new season.
Fast action all night long. There were probably 6 pair of pocket aces tonight. Two of them were busted up.
When the final table was made, Michelle came into the table extremely shortstack. At more than one point she was all-in in the bind. She managed to survive and take 6th place.
The bubble came down to Stan, Bill, Todd and TC. Stan popped the bubble in 4th place.
Bill took 3rd place and $35 for his efforts. Heads up with TC and Todd. Didn't last long being that Todd came into 4:1 chip leader. TC took 2nd place with a win of $60 and Todd took the tournament and the chip with a total win of $119.00.
Two qualifiers for the TOC: TC and Todd
Congratulations to everone. See everyone next week.

Season 11 Tournament of Champions
This is the first TOC for 2008.
We had 13 members qualify and all 13 members showed up for this battle for the bracelet.
First to leave the poker arena was Stan with blinds at 10-20. Surprisingly next to exit the stage was James at 10-20.
Next blind level saw Todd bow out at 15-30.
Brandon was next to leave at 25-50.
After the break there were 9 players left. Alex was the one who broke the bubble for the final table at 25-50.
Steve was the first to leave the final table at 75-150.
Next blind level 100-200 saw two players leave. First was Clay and then Michelle.
At the TOC there are 4 places paid. We are now at the bubble with 5 players left: TC, Dave Jason, Bill and Greg.
At this point the chip leaders are Bill and Greg. The low stack was Dave with around $500 in chips.
Critical play: Blinds were 150-300. Greg makes a pre-flop raise to 900. Jason folds. Bill calls. TC and Dave fold. Dave at this point has $500 in chips.
Flop was A, rag, rag with two hearts on the board. Bill is first to act and checks. Greg moves all-in with $2400. Bill goes into the tank for a long time. Bill has Greg covered in chips if he was to call.....................................Bill finally calls. Greg flips over AQ os and Bill flips over AKos. No one had a heart draw. Bill's AK holds up and Greg leaves on bubble.
Dave made the money with $500 in chips. Well Dave left with 4th place and a payout of $26.
TC was short stacked and moved all-in in the small blind with K8os and the big blind called with pocket jacks. Jacks held up and TC left in third place and a payday of $39.
Heads-up between Bill and Jason. Going into it, Bill had Jason outchipped about 3-1. They cut a deal for payout. Bill agreed to $300 and Jason agreed to $173. They played for the bracelet.
Very good heads up. Balances going back and forth. It was close but Bill had Jason outchipped. Bill moved all in with KQos. Jason quickly called with pocket Aces.
Flop was rag, rag, rag. Turn was a Q and the river was a K. Runner runner for two pair for the win and the bracelet.
Bill has become Season 11 Tournament of champions winner.
Good luck to everyone in Season 12.

Season 11 Week 7
Very interesting tournament. 14 people showed up.
Last week was one of the longest tournaments for the VPL with 13 people and ending around 12:50am. This week proved to be the opposite. 14 people battled for the win and it ended around 10:30. It has to be the fastest tourney recorded.
The play was fast and furious. The bubble was down to TC, James, Steve and Corey. Someone had to pop the bubble and that someone was Corey. James took 3rd which paid him $35. The heads-up battle was between TC and Steve. When it was all over, it was TC who came out the victor. Steve won $60 for his efforts and the winning prize was $119 taken by TC along with the chip.
Interesting side note: Alex has lead the points since week 1. James won last week and took third this week. Now the points read: Alex 70 and James 68.
Next week is the final week. Only two points separate the point leaders. The estimated points win is $186.00.
Can Alex hold the lead and win or can James outlast him and take the pot at the last second? Who knows. To find out come joint the last week of Season 11 on 2-26-08.
Good luck everyone.

Season 11 Week 6
February 12, 2008.
VPL had 13 members show up to battle.
The final table was made early before 9:30. The final table was made of 8 people. Once the first two people got taken out the play was intense.
Six people lasted two complete sets of blinds before someone got taken out.
The bubble people were James, Dave, TC and Slugger. The person with the pin to pop the bubble was Slugger. Three way action (everyone made the money at this point). Blinds were around 200-400 at this point. TC came pushing hard. All-in almost everyone other hand.
That play works all the time except for the last one as TC found out when he went all-in with A 3 os and ran into A Q held by Dave.
The heads up battle begins with Dave and James. And I do mean battle. The blinds get capped at 500/1000 and the two remain strong.
This tournament was one of the longest battles in VPL history. Normal tournies usually end around 11:00 - 11:30. This war ended at 12:55. The heads up alone went for about 45 minutes.
Final hand of the night: Small blind calls 500 and the big blind checks. The flop comes A 2 A. Dave thinks about it for a while and moves all-in. James calls. Daves flips over 2 Q and James flips over 2 3 os. The turn was a blank. The river made a 3.
Being tired, the TD said okay the cards read: Dave AA22 Q and James AA223. Dave wins.
Here's the kicker both players agreed and went to contiue to play. James had Dave outchipped. As the TD was gathering the cards and the chips were being pushed to Dave. Alex was watching and said no James hit his 3 on the river to win it: James AA338 and Dave AA22Q.
All three involved agreed and the tournament was over. James the victor claiming $110 in prize money and Dave $55 and TC took $34 for third place.
Very good tournament and an excellent heads up.
Good luck to everyone next week.
* With this win James has come to 7 points behind Alex in the points race. Alex has 61 and James has 54. There are only two more tournaments to go before the TOC.

Season 11 Week 5
This week we had 14 players for the VPL (Valley Poker League).
Alot of action on the felt. The bubble came down to Jason, Clay, Randy and Bill. Someone had to pop the bubble and that someone was Randy. Clay took 3rd place with a prize of $35. Bill found himself heads up (just like last week with TC) with Jason.
After passing the chip lead back and forth, Bill grabbed 2nd place for his efforts which won him $60. Jason won his 2nd chip this season and went home with $119.00.
With the end of week 5, Alex finds himself still in the points lead by 10. Alex carries 52 points but right behind him is Bill and Clay with 42 each. Jason has 40.
There were no new qualifiers this week. As of the end of Week 5, there are 9 qualifiers for the TOC.
Good luck to everyone and well will see you next week.

BJ's tournament
This tournament was a $60 buy-in. There was 8 people. There was a $5 bounty on everyone's head. It was quite interesting because only three people cashed in bounties. 1st guy cashed in one. The next guy cashed in 2 (this guy took 2nd place). The winner cashed in 5 of them.
It was a descent one table tournament. The total prize pool was $440. 1st place won $220 and 2nd place won $132 and 3rd place took $88.
It was a fun tournament. Hopefully there will be more to follow.
Don't forget about the Valley Poker League on Tuesday nights.

Season 11 Week 3
We had 14 people for the league this week. Very quick tournament this week. The tournament ended with the blinds being 150-300. This was one of the quickest tournaments.
The final four were: Jason, Brandon, Randy and Alex. There had to be a bubble boy and that honor went to Alex. In third place was Randy. Jason and Brandon battled for first but when the dust settled it was Jason who was standing alone with the money and the championship chip.
Congratulations to Jason and Brandon for qualfiying.
Good luck to everyone next week.
